LOADING PHASE EP OUT NOW
The loading phase of this exciting collaboration with the one and only Peter Juhan is now complete. This new EP has five steaming hot tracks which include three previously unreleased tracks: provocative BURN STUPID, sexually charged HOT BOYS and the sample-filled naughty instrumental banger XXX. EP includes also the previous singles FREAK/UNIQUE and MONKEY.
Collab with Peter Juhan started in the summer 2023. Mutual musical and visual combination with Dubious Gloom is operating in the cross section of modern electronic club sound and LGBTQ+ culture packed with 80-90’s thematics and provocative, sexual and humorous lyrics. This duo provided their first debut live show in the summer 2024 at On The Rocks Club in Helsinki, Finland. Live shows and more music is coming in 2025. Stay tuned!
BIOGRAPHY
DUBIOUS GLOOM (Juha Katila) – artist, producer and DJ – is a powerhouse rising from Finland’s underground electronic music scene.
He fuses hard-hitting drum grooves, dark basslines with striking melodies and sampling into a danceable, high-energy sound. His genres varies from club-friendly House and Electropop to gloomier Electronica and Drum & Bass.
With three albums, many singles, EPs and remixes to his name, his work is spreading from Finland’s dance clubs to global audiences. His track “CROSS” was selected among the best Finnish electronic music tracks of 2021 by artist/DJ Rony Rex on his radio show on YleX. Dubious Gloom’s celebrated remixes, livesets and DJ sets have electrified clubs and events in Finland such as DJ gigs at the legendary LGBTQ+ club DTM in Helsinki. His recent collaboration with fellow artist/DJ Peter Juhan further showcases new sides in his ever-evolving creativity which can be heard in their first mutual “loading phase EP“.
Beyond music, Juha’s artistic background spans design, advertising and photography to additional ventures such as theater and sound design. His music reflects belief in embracing life’s best moments but also personal journey through depression and his identity as a proud yet introverted, artistic figure in the LGBTQ+ community. But his message for everyone is to find the light in the darkness. Dance, love and celebrate the highs of life.
With upcoming live performances on the horizon and new releases like his first single of the year “SEE THROUGH YOU“, Dubious Gloom continues to push boundaries with music that resonates on the dance floors and beyond.
